Somali Marriage Apps and Websites in 2026: An Honest Comparison

Every fact about another service comes from its own website or official app-store listing, read on 16 September 2026, with the link next to it. We say nothing about how well any of them works, because we cannot check that.

The short answer

There is no single "Somali Muzz" yet. There are a handful of smaller services built only for Somalis, and one very large general Muslim app with an ethnicity filter. Which one suits you depends mostly on three things: whether you want an app or a website, how you want to pay, and how you want your wali involved.

Sahan

Sahan is a Somali marriage app on the App Store and Google Play. Both listings name Apps Foundry Labs Ltd in the United Kingdom as the operator. The US App Store lists subscription tiers called Explorer, Pioneer and Legend, from $9.99 for one month to $79.99 for three months.

Sahan's safety page states that members are asked to verify with a live selfie that moderators compare with their photos, and that reports go to a human moderator. Its wali page states that you can add your wali, who then gets view access to the matches you choose to share and cannot send messages himself. The App Store lists the first release as October 2025.

MyCalaf

MyCalaf is an Android app on Google Play, published by Youssouf IT. We found no iOS version. The listing shows that it contains ads and does not list any prices. It states that it offers manual profile verification and active moderation, and that it serves Somalis in Djibouti, Somalia and across the diaspora.

Alaf Guur

Alaf Guur is one of the older Somali services. Its website describes itself as a matrimonial site exclusively for Somali singles, and its iOS app was first released in 2017. The App Store names Alafguur.com Matrimonial Services Ltd as the seller, and the site's terms give a London company address.

The website's membership page lists three renewing plans: $5.99 for one month, $14.99 for three months and $54.99 for twelve months. The iOS app lists VIP subscriptions and credit packs separately, from $3.99. We could not load its Android listing.

Somali Guur

Somali Guur is a newer service for Somalis worldwide. Its website says the App Store and Google Play apps are coming soon, and we found no live store listing on 16 September 2026. It states that core matching, chat, wali requests and photo reveal are free, with an optional Gold tier; no prices are published.

It states that it uses selfie verification and an etiquette oath at sign-up, and that it has a wali request flow where contact details are shown only after the wali accepts.

Muzz

Muzz is the largest Muslim marriage app, but it is for Muslims of every background rather than Somalis only. Its website states that it is always free to see profiles, match, chat and marry, with a paid Muzz Gold subscription on top. Its App Store listing mentions filtering by ethnicity. On 16 September 2026 its former Somali marriage page no longer loaded.

If the size of the pool matters more to you than a Somali-only community, Muzz is the obvious choice.

Somali Marriage

Somali Marriage is the service that wrote this page. It is a website you can install on your phone, founded in Stockholm in 2026 by Fuaad Nuur, and open to Somalis wherever they live. We are new and small, and much smaller than Muzz.

Joining, browsing and sending interest are free for everyone. Chatting opens with Premium — either of you can pay, same price for sisters and brothers. Every profile passes an automated safety check, members are never shown publicly, and involving your wali is built in and encouraged but not required.

How to choose

1. App or website. If you want something from the App Store or Google Play today, look at Sahan, MyCalaf or Alaf Guur. If you would rather not install anything, Somali Marriage, Alaf Guur's website and Somali Guur work in a browser.
2. How you pay. Sahan and Alaf Guur list renewing subscriptions. Somali Marriage: free to join and browse, then Premium opens the chat — either of you can pay, same price for sisters and brothers. Somali Guur and MyCalaf publish no prices.
3. Your wali. Sahan, Somali Guur and Somali Marriage each describe a way to bring your wali in. Decide how involved you want your family to be before you choose.
4. Pool or focus. A large general app gives you more people. A Somali-only service gives you people who share your background. You can use more than one.

Whichever you pick, the platform matters less than how you use it: be honest in your profile, involve your family early, and keep the conversation pointed at nikah.
